Tips for building a positive and productive working relationship

1

Clear Communication

Establish clear expectations from day one. Discuss household rules, schedules, and preferences openly with your helper.

2

Mutual Respect

Treat your helper with dignity and respect. A positive working relationship leads to better outcomes for everyone.

3

Reasonable Expectations

Set realistic workloads and provide adequate rest. An overworked helper cannot perform at their best.

4

Regular Feedback

Provide constructive feedback regularly. Address issues early before they become bigger problems.

5

Cultural Sensitivity

Be understanding of cultural differences. Take time to learn about your helper's background and customs.

6

Fair Treatment

Ensure fair wages, proper rest days, and good living conditions. Happy helpers are productive helpers.
